124 Built on the Rock, Jesus Christ

October 02, 2022 Pastor Jeff Cranston Season 1 Episode 124
Kitchen Table Theology
124 Built on the Rock, Jesus Christ
Show Notes

Jen Denton and Pastor Jeff Cranston discuss how salvation is based on Christ and the believer's service to Christ. Paul likens these to gold and silver and precious stones and says that there are two types of structures built on Christ- the first being built on gold silver or precious stones, which will endure and be rewarded, while the second is built on wood hay or stubble, which will suffer loss. Christians are secure in their salvation because they are building on Christ, which is the rock. Christ himself is the foundation on which the Christian stands, and on which they build their eternal life.

[00:01 - 06:47] Opening Segment

  • Paul likens this to gold, silver, and precious stones, but says that another class of structure is built on the rock--wood hay and stubble
  • Christ is the foundation on which Christians stand, and on which they build their lives and eternity.

[16:53 - 18:38] Closing Segment

  • Salvation occurs instantaneously at the moment of salvation when we are placed upon Christ as a solid rock
